Common In-Home Assisted Living Frequently Asked Questions

Assisted living promotes independence and emphasizes wellness in a warm, dignified, community setting. Residents reside in their own living quarters that can be furnished and decorated any way they choose. Additionally, residents have control over meals and the freedom to decide what activities they partake in on a daily basis.

Nursing homes however, are dedicated to those who are sick and require round-the-clock care. Independence is less encouraged and those in nursing homes typically need additional assistance performing daily activities such as bathing, eating, and moving around.

Though we do encourage our residents to treat Select Group Home as their own home, we enforce a strict 8 PM curfew for all visitors. This curfew ensures the safety of our other residents, especially since each resident shares a room with another resident.

The list of benefits with assisted living are endless, but a few include:

  • Enhanced social life
  • Increased peace of mind
  • Assistance in daily activities as needed
  • Recreational opportunities
  • Healthy & delicious home-cooked meals

Our costs are based on the level of care each resident will require, but range between $2,800 and $3,500 per month.

Yes. Each of our rooms are equipped with two beds designed for roommate-style living. We go through an extensive process to determine which residents will room together, taking personality, gender, and compatibility into consideration.

If you have questions or concerns about your loved one sharing a room, we’ll be happy to ease your mind with a more formal conversation.

Our resident selection process is very informal. We go through a screening process with all our residents and their families—ask questions about previous medical, physical, and psychological history and get to know each of you on a more personal level.

From there, we cross-reference our current residents to determine if there is a fit for your loved one among our community.

We do not accept aggressive patients for safety reasons. Otherwise, we welcome any and all senior citizens who are capable of living as independently as our facility allows.
